Job description
To assist in the planning and execution of the British Embassy Santo Domingo’s Queen’s Birthday Party, and possibly other events, whilst providing high standards of customer service to internal and external stakeholders of the events.
Roles and responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of event’s guest list, send out invitations as well as follow up with guests to verify their attendance
- Recruit and manage network of volunteers
- Prepare digital assets to aid the planning process and to use at the event
- Ensure value for money is achieved by requesting, analysing and presenting quotations, and by following up with various suppliers
- Update the existing database contacts information throughout the process
- Organise and process historical data to assist in future event planning
- Provide other general administrative assistance in the Executive Office and event planningEssential qualifications, skills and experience

- currently enrolled to obtain a Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, International Business, Business Administration or similar
- available to start working immediately
- fluent in both English and Spanish
- experience in customer service, event planning, business administration or similar
- graphic design enthusiast
- Desirable qualifications, skills and experience
- intermediate to Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Access, Excel and Word
- information management experience

Additional information
The British Embassy Santo Domingo is a small, busy embassy with a high performing, friendly team. The expected working pattern is Monday to Friday 8:00am – 12:00pm (flexible). The Political Intern may be required to cover for the Executive Officer during staff absence.
